I AM LEAVING ON A JET PLANE......

I am leaving on a jet plane, Don't know when I"ll be home again.....That is how the song goes, or went as I have not heard it in a while. Today I finally bid the "JUNKET JET" a fond farewell, out of the shop and into the skies! It has found it's resting place in the yard hanging on the front porch, I have washed my hands of this flight to a Land of fantasy nowhere. May it be alive in the air, and bring me much criticism.some just don't consider it art! but to me it is as cool as the vapor trails off a real jet engine at altitude. When I feel inspired I may pull it down and work on it some more, until then........Good bye  my wayward friend!

Dont hang on too long

I found this in my e-mail this morning and found it to be worthy to share with everyone. Wishing you all the best for today, may it be stress free and prosperous. ~
A lecturer when explaining stress management to an audience,
Raised a glass of water and asked;
'How heavy is this glass of water?'

Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.

The lecturer replied, 'The absolute weight doesn't matter.
It depends on how long you try to hold it.
If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem.
If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm.
If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance.
In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.'

 He continued,
'And that's the way it is with stress management.
If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later,
We won't be able to carry on. '

'As with the glass of water,
You have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again.
When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.'
'So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow.

 Whatever burdens you're carrying now,
Let them down for a moment if you can.'
So, my friend, Put down anything that may be a burden to you right now. Don't
pick it up again until after you've rested a while.

Here are some great ways of dealing with the burdens of life:

* Accept that some days you're the pigeon,
And some days you're the statue.

* Always keep your words soft and sweet,
Just in case you have to eat them.

* Always wear stuff that will make you look good
If you die in the middle of it.

*
Drive
carefully. It's not only cars that can be
 "Recalled" by their maker.

* If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

* If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again,
 It was probably worth it.

* It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to be kind to others.

* Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time,
Because then you won't have a leg to stand on.

* Nobody cares if you can't dance well.
Just get up and dance.

 * When everything's coming your way,
 You're in the wrong lane.

* Birthdays are good for you.
The more you have, the longer you live.

* You may be only one person in the world,
But you may also be the world to one person.

* Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

* We could learn a lot from crayons... Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.

*A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery

 On a detour.

Have an awesome day and know that someone has thought about you today...I did

Liars & Jets

Well I have officially Labeled myself a genuine Liar! I am blogging after saying I am taking a vacation from blogging. The Boredom of sitting in a hospital waiting room has gotten to me. I have not posted a picture of the furnace jet with it's engines, I guess in flight it would be called a junk ~et, (this is where you laugh or sigh!). I blurred out alot of the surroundings so the jet would stand out a bit more. This is all from a furnace that was taken out of a house, with the exception of the horizontal stabilizers which is a blade from a lawn edger which you cannot see too well. Laugh as the Garden Bug misses his flight to freedom, or doom? not sure how the flight will be seeing i created it! ~ ENJOY!

A VACATION FROM BLOGGING?

To anyone who is crazy enough to read or follow my blog, Just a little note to say thanks, and I will be off the blog circut for a bit. This is where you cheer! haha. Tomorrow is a big day filled with big adventures for my wife with surgeries, and my self with juggling trips to boston and work and corgi keeping etc. I am possitivlley sure the world can live without my posts, and survive without seeing junk art made from scraps of metal.  I f any of you out there are praying folks, well if you could say a prayer or two for my wife, and if not maybe have a kind thought for her. Having cancer when she was younger and now much older life has not treated her well, and for almost 26 years I have been helping her along. so blogging might not be in the cards for a few weeks, but ya never know, I might just need to make something and post it to help ease my mind and pass some time. Thanks for reading.

AN EVENING WITH RUSH

Well here it is a few days past "THE BIG DAY" in my book anyways. Ever since I was a kid my favorite band has been the Canadian Rock sensation "RUSH"! I remember fights in school over whether Neil peart or John Bohnam from Zeppelin was the best drummer in the world, Skipping school to wait in line for those 9 dollar tickets to sit anywhere but within viewing distance of the stage. Always wondering what a backstage party would be like. From Hemispheres to current time machine tour, they have been it. A band that never fails to inspire, impress, or ever let you down, (or lead you to believe they have not!)  So where am I going with all of this? Well 2 summers ago I was able to see RUSH at the Comcast center, I had meet & greet pass' as well as front row seats. it was something that I wanted to happen since I was a Kid, this past show  in Boston, was not quite the same, I had seats On the floor with the sound board people, and talked to 2 guys that missed the boat on brains and the meet and greet, because they had pass'(see pic) and thought it happened at the end of the show! (70's yes 2010 No) I was hanging out with the guys going to the meet & greet basking in the excitement of meeting the guys you have listened to all your life. I was a bit disappointed, but I had great seats, and I have meet them already. I am not sure how much you can put in a blog but i am trying to do my best here to give you an experience. Oh and by the way my sons girlfriends father, who is I think a tad and i mean a tad more of a rush fan than I am (because His brain still works) was along for the unexpected ride. Why unexpected? Well I have a friend, and by all of my definitions of the word friend, he is. He took time to call friends and hook us up with tickets, as he did for snakes and arrows. When you go to a show not knowing what your getting it can be anxious. He is in the industry and manages alot of bands that you and I know and some that we do not but will. Anyways it was amazing to stand on the floor surrounded by thousands of people, from a 12 year old I meet to the 70 something guy playing air guitar with his depends on, it was great a packed audience, they are still rocking and satisfying after 30 plus years. What a feeling. What a show. Having a blackberry as my sole source of keepsaking I didn't get much good footage or pics, but would like to share some with you. (all the while wondering if Loulou and Hodge would be into being there? haha) Oh and if your reading on the hive blog, this band is considered ART!  so anyways, the night went well, great songs, great people, and at the end there were some pyro explosions, and alex lost the sound to his guitar, gary geddy lee and neil peart just took it in stride and made up the I dont have any guitar song, alex made believe he was playing, I was looking at the sound guys as they frantically were trying to tell the stage it was not on there end, I took a short video of the very end of that song where they fix the guitar. and after that they played a slow version of working man and ramped it up into an unbelievable finish, it was a throw in, an extra song as an apology for screwing up, because I know it was not on the bill for the show. Oh and neil did a great solo 5 or so minutes long as usual that as expected let no man down in the house!(sorry the video is a minute short because i shut the phone off by mistake) I have that on video with poor sound quality also haha. so there is my RUSH experience. It was my one night out away from the world that consumes my life, aside from Joy from the corgamatics, and seeing my wife stay alive it is all I have to bring excitement and joy to my life these days. well and grand kids : ) Hope you enjoy my sharing of pics and stuff and if you get a chance to see the best band in the world before they are no more DO IT!

THE FURNACE AND THE PLANE

Well yesterday my neighbor asked if i could help him carry an old furnace up out of a basement because hes is replacing it. once we got it into the van I said hey we have to strip it, i have some ideas for some "JUNK ART".
well this morning i went to town and took parts from the furnace we UN installed, and started in on making my newest junk art project. after an hour of welding i finally received what i was looking for "awesome,: the old furnace was transformed into a high tech air plane, although not done i have it out in the yard showing  it to the world and thought i would share it with you, have a  great day and always remember to "FLY THE Friendly skies! BYE BYE SUMMER HELLO BEACH!

Welcome to CAPE COD!  The Salt air, the sound of the ocean, cars and horns, & traffic jams, and the sign no one wants to see at the beaches "NO DOGS ALLOWED!" Well here it is labor day, the day the crowds tend to go home, the barrels at the beaches filled with beach chairs and beach toys that no one wants to bring home, the streets tend to get less busy, but not like they use to be. kids are in school, and it is time for the invasion of the dogs. That's right, invasion, not that the signs mean much in the summer, but after labor day it seems that beach going dogs are tolerated, responsible owners always cleanup after their pets, not  like the human trash generators who leave trash everywhere. So whats my point? Hodge is finally going to see the ocean up front and close, like Lou Lou has (see above pic) and I, have to come up with some ingenious ways of getting pics and video while we walk and swim in the surf! so if your like me and want to bring the dogs to the beach but have been waiting. have at it and have a great time .

NEW BLOOD

Well it looks like Hodge & Loulou have a new cousin! My sister and her family are awaiting the new arrival of their new corgi! after a visit today and play time , looks like a Lil female fluffy is going to be making her way to their house tomorrow.my nieces and nephew are happy, and so am I.  Not only do Hodge and Loulou get a Lil cousin, I see that ever since we were young having corgi's that there is no turning back, that  the only dog that will satisfy the heart of anyone that had grown with a corgi, is to have a corgi! very happy to know that my nieces and nephew will encounter the corgi spirit, which will carry on through their life and most likely their children's lives!
